    There are four stages to moving home :



     

  • ESTIMATION OF THE VOLUME
    OF ITEMS TO BE MOVED AND HOW

    A TECHNICAL VISIT OF YOUR HOME

    Depending on our possibilities, we can organize a technical visit of your home by one of our removal specialists.

    > This visit will enable us to assess first hand the difficulties there may be to access your home.
    We will also estimate the volume of items to move and answer all your questions.

  • A DETAILED INVENTORY

    In any event, you will be requested to fill in a detailed inventory and to indicate the value of your possessions and then to return it to us.

    > The study of this inventory will enable us to calculate the volume of furniture that you need to move, as well as the technical material and the number of removal team members required for the move.

    On the inventory you will also be required to mark down details concerning the access to your home (number of floors, access to a lift, possibility for a large removal van to park in your street, …).

    On the inventory you will also list in as much detail as possible all the items of furniture and personal possessions that need to be moved.

    In addition, this document will be used by our insurance company as the reference document.

  • Preparation

  • So that everything goes as smoothly as possible on the day that you move home, it is essential that everything is prepared very thoroughly. In most cases, it is simply a « standard » removal service that is required.

    BOXING AND PACKING

    We provide you with all the cardboard boxes and cello tape that you will need and this material can be collected from your removal company premises.

    If you live far away from the removal company, we can deliver or ship this material by courier service to your home address.

  • MOVING OUT OF YOUR PROPERTY

    IT’S THE BIG DAY !

    It is essential that you are present on the day that you move home. If however you are unable to be present, we ask you to choose someone who can replace you on the day of your move. Please let the removal company know about this.

    Your main contact on the day of your move will be with the removal company team manager. It is important that you provide him with all the necessary information and details linked to your move. The team manager will intervene as the specialist and you should let this person deal with everything.

    It will be easier for the team to load the removal van if you can take the team manager on a guided tour of your home before beginning loading so that he can get a general idea of the work to be done.


  • ONCE EVERYTHING HAS BEEN LOADED

    Once everything has been loaded in the removal van, we advise that you take a thorough look around your home with the team manager to make sure that you haven’t forgotten anything. You will also be able to check that everything for the move has been done correctly and that you are totally satisfied with the services provided.

  • PRESENTATION OF THE DOCUMENTS

    Once everything has been loaded into the removal van, the team manager will hand you the following documents :

    The packing list with the loading copy - Exemplaire chargement

    > For you to sign and keep.

  • MOVING IN TO YOUR NEW HOME

    When the removal van arrives at your new home, it is up to you to show the team manager where exactly you would like the furniture to be put in the different rooms.
    For this we advise you to prepare a plan beforehand as this will be essential if you are not present when the furniture is moved in to your home.

    Le déchargement effectué, il est conseillé de faire le tour de votre domicile avec le Chef d’équipe afin d’éviter tout oubli et de s’assurer que l’ensemble des prestations convenues a bien été réalisé à votre entière satisfaction.

  • PRESENTATION OF THE DOCUMENTS

    > For you to sign and keep.

    Should there be any damage to any items, you must make a note of the problems on this document. It is impor- tant that you check all your furniture very carefully before signing the declaration. The cost of any damage that is not noted down on this document will not be covered by our insurance. Once this document has been signed by both parties, you will be given a copy to keep. Please note in addition that all the problems that are noted down on this document must be confirmed by a letter to the removal company sent by registered post within seven working days following the loading date.

    The end of move check list which must be filled in at the end of the day.

    A satisfaction questionnaire which we would be grateful if you could return to the marked address.

    The volume and move checklist that shows the volume of the itemsthat are to be moved and the distance to be covered.
    > You will keep a copy of this document.

  • YOU ARE REQUIRED TO


    • Fill in the detailed inventory of everything being moved with the value of the items.
    • Pack books, toys, household linen, cooking saucepans and non-fragile objects in the cardboard boxes that we provide.
    • Pack all items in your basement, cellar, attic and garage.
    • Pack the contents of all your cupboards and wardrobes
    • Remove all objects that are fixed to the walls, ceilings and floors.
    • Dismantle all the specialized equipment in your home (fitted-kitchen units, ….)
    • Disconnect and secure all the electrical household appliances and electronic devices.
  • For obvious safety reasons,
    THERE ARE CERTAIN PRODUCTS AND ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE TRANSPORTED BY THE REMOVAL COMPANY


    • Dangerous, explosive or inflammable products (bottles of gas, ...)
    • Coal
    • Jewellery and precious metals ; coins and other valuables
    • Live animals. Note that an aquarium must be emptied for it to be transported.
    • Household plants – or if they are moved, they are not covered under guarantee.
    • Freezers full of frozen food – or if so, the items are not covered under guarantee.
      (In the event that you would like the removal company to move your freezer while still full, we advise you to set it at the lowest temperature at least 24 hours before moving home.)


  • SOME TIPS ...

    The cardboard boxes must be labelled and closed.
    (Please note that it is important that you mark « Top- Bottom » on the boxes if they contain liquid substances.)

    For all high tech and multi-media/computing equipment, you are invited to use the original boxes if you have them.

    Electrical household appliances : Please empty and drain the washing machine, dishwasher and the spin-drier so that these household appliances are not at all damp on the day of your move. Don’t forget to defrost and clean your fridge and freezer.

    Please use the large cardboard boxes for household linen, toys and various other lightweight objects. The small cardboard boxes are to pack all books, CDs and other heavy items.

    Garden tools and equipment : Please clean all of this equipment beforehand and empty the fuel tanks of any motorized garden equipment.

  • THE REMOVAL COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR :


    • Packing all the crockery and decorative items in specially designed cardboard boxes (special cases for glasses, boxes designed for picture frames).
    • Packing all HI-FI equipment, television and fragile objects in special crates.
    • Packing all garments on coat hangers in transit wardrobes.
    • Dismantling all the items of furniture as needed and then packing the furniture in protective covers.
